  COX Negative

COX is an enzyme inside mitochondria which undertakes one of the stages of oxidative phosphorylation - the conversion of glucose and fats to produce energy in the form of ATP.

Cells without this COX enzyme are described as COX Negative.

Without COX, the process of energy production cannot be completed efficiently.
